Nova now comes with a new set of functions for use with databases based on Laravel. I’m getting to know this functionality by running through what's possible with a few practical examples. I’ve always like w3resources for presenting interesting challenges asking I query my database with raw mysql queries. Until now I have written these raw queries first in sequel pro and then using existing functionality in the style of SMVCF 2.2 (pre-nova) in models. Nova presents us with a new way to work.
When finding and replacing multiple instances of text in a website use this:
update [table_name] set [field_name] = replace([field_name],'[string_to_find]','[string_to_replace]');
would look something like this in practice
update sm_usefulSites set webAddress = replace(field_name,'[kerryowston.co.uk]','[daveismyname.com]');
it updates the selected colum( field_name) in the selected table (table name) and tells it to replace whatever is specified in string_to_find with whatever is spedified in string_to_replace
System – Any

I’ve been using Heidi SQL for a while now but no where near to it’s full potential. Perhaps directly editing data or checking what a specific ID is etc. I choose this as it seemed to be one of the best available.
Here are a few of the basic level things that can be done with databases and when using this program.
